Historical Female Italian Clubs

Delia Lungano gets ready in her apartment in Monte Sacro, Rome for the morning promenade walk in Ostia Antica organized by "In the World of Jane Austen," an historical female Italian club, on April 14, 2018.

She has been dressing-up with clothing that date back from 1817 to 1920's for about four years. She started for fun, now it has become a true obsession as she decided to undertake sowing her dressed on her own.

She finds the fashion plates on the Internet and she tries to recreate them. Regular dresses of that age and time are mostly lost or used as museum pieces. So the group is often scavenging vintage stores or eBay for original pieces. When they do not find what they wish for, they make them on their own.
